Server Requirements

Any NNTP "reader" server with the following reader access capabilities:
- - Accessed via NNTP with USER PASS standard authentication.
- - Must support the NNTP extension
  LIST ACTIVE wildmat
  (Servers which don't support LIST ACTIVE, but do support GROUP can also be accessed for US$5
  extra per month.)
  
  (NOTE: INN 1.4 or later works just fine.)
Assignment of article numbers in order is necessary to provide reliable samples.
(Servers which do anything else are very rare.)
Good availability, reasonable response time. There is a limit to the number of
attempts to obtain sample data in the presence of incomplete, stalled or dropped
connections.
(Sorry, machines that are not connected to the net full time, or through non-static
("dialup") IPs cannot be sampled.)
